Q: What is the difference between COB and SMD LED displays?

COB (Chip on Board) bonds LED chips directly to the PCB without individual packages, creating a seamless surface with no visible black mask between pixels. SMD uses packaged LED components creating visible pixel gaps. COB delivers superior contrast, impact resistance, and uniformity — the preferred technology for fine pitch indoor displays below P2.0.

Q: Which pixel pitch is right for my application?

Minimum viewing distance (meters) ≈ pixel pitch (mm) × 1.5–2. P0.9–P1.5 for boardrooms and studios (1.5–3m viewing), P2.6–P3.9 for event stages and retail (4–8m), P4.8–P6.25 for outdoor billboards and large venues (10m+).
